Description
This lot consists of 96 rounds of .256 Winchester Magnum centerfire rifle ammunition housed in two blue MTM Case-Gard 50-round flip-top plastic boxes. The cartridges are loaded with copper-jacketed projectiles featuring distinctive red polymer tips, which are consistent with Hornady V-MAX bullets. A visual inspection of the headstamps indicates a mixture of brass cases, with many marked W-W SUPER 256 WIN MAG, and others marked G.F.L. .357 MAGNUM and FEDERAL .357 MAGNUM; the use of .357 Magnum brass is characteristic for this caliber as it is the parent case from which .256 Winchester Magnum is formed. The interior lid of one storage box contains handwritten ballistic load data that reads 75 GR V-MAX, 19 GR IMR 4227, and .256 WIN MAG. The cartridges are organized in the boxes in a standard 5 by 10 grid pattern with some vacant slots. As these appear to be hand-loaded or reloaded cartridges, we have not function-tested this ammunition and cannot guarantee its performance or safety.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in good overall condition, with the brass cases exhibiting various degrees of age-related tarnish and a light patina. The projectiles are clean, and the red polymer tips are intact. The primers are seated correctly without signs of protrusion. The blue plastic flip-top boxes are functional but show minor surface scuffing and have handwritten load information in black ink on the interior lids. This is live ammunition and is sold as-is.
